What's the difference between Self Inking
stamps and Pre inked rubber stamps?
Self inking stamps have an ink pad and a
spring loaded mechanism in the body of the stamp. When the stamp
is not in use, the stamp is resting upside down against the ink
pad. When you press down, the stamp flips away from the ink pad
and presses against the surface you are stamping. When you
release the stamp, it flips back upside down in the body and up
against the ink pad again. This way, the stamp gets re inked
again each time it is used.
Pre Inked stamps, on the other hand, do not
have a physical mechanism to them. They are made of a special
material that retains the ink. When the stamp is pressed down it
prints the stamp image and the ink re-saturates the stamping
material and it is ready for use. They can be used for personal
or business use, however if you are purchasing a stamp for
business a pre-inked stamp is a better choice than self inking
stamp.
